THE COALITION OF BLACK ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ORGAINIZATIONS
The KSP is putting out the call for all Black Economic Development Organizations to join us in organizing the Money Power Respect Economic Summit. At this summit we will create an organization that will be the conduit that we all support and have a say in it’s operations. This will be a coalition that will monitor the policy’s set at the MPRES. There have been many economic development summits, rallies or conventions. However, for the most part they have been ineffective. When the event ends so does the excitement. Now you may see some fruits from the event but the truth is Black people still have the highest unemployment rate, highest incarceration rate, lowest education rates in the country.
How can a group have over 3 million people with college be so economically underdeveloped? How can a people have over 10,000 elected officials have so little political power? How does a people who has 1000’s of economic development organizations and have no economic development? How does a people have 1.9 million businesses and less than 10% of those companies have more than 1 employee. How does a people spend 1 trillion dollars a year and only spend less than 3% with their own race? The answer is simple…..and the solution is what the MPRES is all about. The answer is Black America lacks a national economic policy. We lack an understanding of basic cultural economic rules of engagement.
The goal of the MPRES is to establish this national economic policy …..promote it and enforce it. Why form a coalition? Because nothing else is working. We have tried it with individual organizations for the past 80 years and we are still at square 1. We need to aid and abet and act in concert with one another. We need to move with purpose and authority. We all have the same goal so our purpose is not the question….. By showing unity is what is gives us the authority. By joining the coalition you do not lose your identity….what you do is gain strength and support from your brother organizations.
